ANIMALS ADOPTED

Yuriy
Abandoned in a council flat at the age of 5 weeks Yuriy is lucky to be alive. He was discovered by a council worker and brought to us. After some time making sure he\'d suffered no permanent ill affects from his poor start, Yuriy was adopted. We frequently get photos of him and his new best pal Meesho. Your donations help us help animals like Yuriy, alone, frightened and with NO-ONE else to turn to.
How You Can Help
Did you know that most RSPCA Branches are separately registered
charities?
The RSPCA Nottingham and Notts is one of these Branches.
This means we don’t
get funding from RSPCA headquarters, the Government or the National Lotto…we
are on our own.
The money we fundraise and donations we are given stays
HERE in Nottingham to help LOCAL animals.
Animals like
Alfie...
This is Alfie looking very content and relaxed although can’t say the same for teddy who is keeping a weather eye on Alfie’s teeth!
Alfie is a very, VERY lucky cat who has definitely used one of his nine lives after he got tangled up in barbed wire. He was freed by a council worker who then called the RSPCA and Alfie was rushed to Vets4Pets in Bulwell. His injuries were awful, his whole left flank was badly cut and bruised and his open wounds had got infected. On top of this he had a terrible gum infection and chronic ear mites. Alfie was in a poor state.
However, after a big operation, lots of medication and intensive care, both at the vets and here at Hyson Green, he made a FULL recovery. He never complained though his ordeal and now has found a WONDERFUL home with Mr and Mrs Daws in Hucknall who spoil him and give him the love and attention he so deserves.
Without help from people like you, who help us pay for operations like Alfie’s , helping us to house animals like him in safe, warm and comfortable accommodation, feeding and giving veterinary after care for the duration of their stay with us WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE.
We take in hundreds of animals like Alfie every year. It costs thousands of pounds to keep our Branch running and to help those animals who have no-one else to care for them. Here are some ways you can help animals, living in your area who need you…
Leaving a legacy or bequest
Remembering local animals in your will and leaving the RSPCA Nottingham and Notts Branch a legacy or bequest provides VITAL funds. We simply could not carry on without the kind support of people remembering us in their will.
As all RSPCA Branches are SEPARATELY REGISTERED CHARITIES, if you want your gift to help animals close to where you live, you must advise your solicitor to state this clearly in your will. Please ask him or her to write the Branch name and registered charity number.

Volunteering
There are SO many ways you can help us by volunteering. Here are just a few...
Fundraising
– This is the single most vital form of volunteering as without funds, we cannot do anything. You can actively fundraise by taking part in
house-to-house/envelope collections,
store collections,
sponsorship, and
self manned events/sales in aid of your local RSPCA.
Collecting clothing and bric-a-brac
- for sale in our charity shops
Events
- We are always in need of volunteers to help out at our Annual Sponsored Dog Walk held in May
Collecting prizes for raffle/tombola stalls
Volunteering in our shops
- help is ALWAYS needed in our charity shops. We need people to work on the counter as well as behind the scenes sorting.
Promoting RSPCA Campaigns locally
Helping us raise funds by selling Raffle tickets
Working with animals
– always the most popular subject we are asked about. Unfortunately, the opportunity for ‘hands on’ work is very limited. However, the above listed ways to help are essential in keeping the Branch running. Your time, however little you can spare, is vital and appreciated by us but more importantly, appreciated by the animals.
If you have 5 minutes to spare or 5 hours, please
contact us and we will happily find you a worthwhile way of filling the time!
